Life is a Journey (Deacon Thill)

Life is a Journey of Journeys…

It has taken me a long time, as well as I suspect, for many of you to realize we are, in life, on a journey of journeys. We are on a journey of faith…a journey of ongoing conversion…and a journey of changes. I am writing about where I am at on my journey of changes. These journeys are opportunities and at the same time difficulties. I am facing one of those changes. I am retiring from my 19 years as the pastoral associate of Holy Spirit Parish. I can see opportunities and at the same time am experiencing difficulty. I will remain in Holy Spirit Parish as an ordained deacon. The 19 years as pastoral associate have been a wonderful blessing. You people of Holy Spirit Parish are like none other…you are amazing. I know this retirement is the right thing to do but I struggle with the change. I know I will need to find my new way forward. I wonder what the difficulties will be and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I will continue to worship and serve in Holy Spirit Parish. I have peace in knowing I have and will continue to share my life with you and you have and will continue to share your life with me. So, for the last 19 years “thanks for the memories.” and with anticipation for the joy of the years that lie ahead.

Well put Deacon Jim. If I had not told you the impact your wisdom and service has been such a fine example to me and the other men in the parish I am now. Thanks for all you have done and all you will do in the future.
    Mathew 25:21-23.
    Shalom Jim.
